In our house, we keep some laminating sheets ready. The kids are always drawing a picture on a scrap of paper and asking for it to be made into a bookmark. They loved doing this as a Valentine’s Day craft. This also could be a gift, as shown on my Valentine’s Day gift ideas post here. Click here to go to my free printable heart template. This will work great as a starter with its simple design. You can also lay out multiple bookmarks on each sheet, in case they want to hand them out as Valentines. I use a paper-cutter for this part, because a straight edge really looks better on this craft. Cut out hearts to use as a template to design the bookmark.
Once cut out, they can design the bookmark by coloring in the hearts, drawing faces on them like Marco did, or using stickers to decorate.
If using regular paper, at this point laminate the bookmark, then punch a hole near the top. Thread a pipe cleaner through and bend. It’s ready for a book!
